Firsts.

Lately we've been experiencing a lot of firsts. I guess that's to be expected considering we've just had our first baby.

The firsts are fun and definitely an adventure. Our first night at home, we abandoned our "no co-sleeping policy" and had Jackson snoozing between the two of us in our bed. He was too cute to leave in the pack 'n play...which is located less than two inches away from our bedside. We even had to go out and buy a special dim light to put on our headboard so that we can turn it on and look at Jackson any time we want during the night without waking him up. Yea, we're in love with this little guy.

Jackson went to his first party. He made a cameo appearance at our friend Steve's birthday party where he spent a few minutes with his future first girlfriend, Kaci Jean.
We gave Jackson his first bath and he was a champ. He didn't cry, but actually seemed to enjoy the warm water for the most part.

Mom and I took Jackson to the doctor for his first pediatric appointment. At 6 days old, he'd already grown an inch and put back on some of that weight he'd lost in the hospital weighing in at 7 lbs. 6 oz. and growing more each day!
We celebrated Jackson's first week birthday with one of Mom's infamous chocolate cakes.

Jackson even had his first outing with the girls! Grandma, Aunt Julie, Bethany, and I walked down to the Edmonds Farmer's Market on Saturday morning and he slept through all of the flowers, food, and festivities.

Jackson completed his first art project. Mom, Julie and I painted his feet and hands blue for the sake of wall art in his nursery. He wasn't too crazy about the cold, wet paint on his skin.

Jackson also went whale watching for the first time when a momma and baby whale decided to hang out for the day at the waterfront near the Edmonds ferry dock. He slept through that too.
Aunt Julie & Grandma looking for whales. The elusive whales were hard to capture on film but there's the tip of a whale tail at least.
Jackson whale watching in his sleep (and holding on to his pacifier with both hands so that the other whale watchers couldn't steal it from him).

Firsts are fun.
